Huntsville is named #8 Geek Town
Huntsville #8 Geekiest City
Our town has been named for many things, but I have never heard of this accolade. Huntsville was recently named one of the geekiest cities in the nation by OnlineUniversities.com. As a local resident and Realtor – I was not surprised because I work with engineers, scientists, techy people of some type weekly. The research group for this project did seem surprised that Huntsville made their list. “Call us ignorant, but when we started out with this list, we didn’t imagine an Alabama city claiming a spot. But Huntsville, AL kept popping up as a great place to live and work for computer and information specialists, space engineers, mathematicians and other geeky jobs. It is also the “center of rocket propulsion research” in the country – whatever that means.”
